Correction Policy & Methodology How we verify scams and handle mistakes in 2026
We take accuracy seriously. This page explains exactly how we verify scam reports, how we handle corrections when we get things wrong, and how we maintain trust in the database.
⚠️ Why this page exists
We are not perfect. Sometimes we get things wrong. Sometimes new information comes to light. That is why we have this policy — to be transparent about how we work and to give you a way to correct us when we mess up.
My honest opinion is that trust is the only currency that matters in a space full of scams. If we lose accuracy, we lose trust. If we lose trust, the database stops mattering.
Our verification process
Every scam report in our database goes through a multi-step verification process. We do not just take someone’s word for it — we check the evidence ourselves using on-chain data and community feedback.
Submission
User submits scam report via form with token address, evidence, and description.
Initial Review
We verify the token exists on-chain and check basic red flags.
Tool Verification
Run through Rugcheck.xyz, Bubblemaps, GMGN.ai, and Solscan.
Pattern Analysis
Check wallet patterns, funding sources, and transaction history.
Cross-Reference
Compare with other reports and community feedback.
Final Decision
Assign verification status and publish with evidence notes.
Verification levels
Not all scam reports are created equal. We use three levels to indicate confidence so traders know how much weight to give each listing.
Verified
Multiple sources confirm the scam. Strong on-chain evidence. High confidence.
Pending Review
Report received but not yet fully verified. May be legit or scam — check manually.
Disputed
Conflicting evidence. Community reports differ. We are investigating further.
Tools we use for verification
These are the tools we rely on daily to verify scam reports and maintain accuracy.
Bubblemaps
Visualizes wallet connections and clusters
Rugcheck.xyz
Honeypot detection, liquidity locks, mint authority
GMGN.ai
Wallet age, transaction history, smart money tracking
Solscan
On-chain verification, contract analysis
DexScreener
Chart patterns, volume analysis, holder data
Community Reports
Cross-referenced with Telegram and Twitter
What we look for
These are the specific red flags that trigger a deeper investigation or a scam listing.
- Dev wallet concentration: Single wallet holding more than 10-15% of supply
- Linked wallets: Clusters of wallets funded from the same source
- Honeypot functions: Contract code that prevents selling
- Mint authority: Ability to create new tokens arbitrarily
- Liquidity removal: History of rug pulls by the same wallet
- Fresh wallets: Top holders created right before launch
- Identical buy amounts: Coordinated buys at the same time
- Social media evidence: Shills, promises, then disappearance

📝 How to request a correction
If you believe we have made a mistake — a token wrongly labeled as a scam, inaccurate information, or outdated data — here is how to request a correction:
- Email us: corrections@pumpfun.help with the subject “Correction Request”
- Include: Token address, current listing, and evidence supporting your correction
- Evidence examples: On-chain proof, official statements, community consensus
We review all correction requests within 72 hours and respond with our findings.
Our correction process
Request Received
Correction request comes in with evidence. Logged in our tracking system.
Evidence Review
We verify the evidence using our standard toolset. Is the claim verifiable on-chain?
Cross-Reference
Check against community reports and other sources. Look for consensus.
Decision
If evidence supports correction, we update the database immediately.
Notification
We notify the requester of the outcome and log the correction.
Our accuracy stats
We track our performance to hold ourselves accountable.
When we remove a listing
We remove a token from the scam database only under these circumstances:
- Verified false positive: Evidence proves the token was wrongly labeled
- Legal requirement: Valid court order or regulatory directive
- Developer remediation: Funds returned, community compensated (rare)
Note: We do not remove listings simply because a project “rebranded” or “has a new team.” The on-chain evidence remains. Buyer beware.
Limitations of our methodology
We are transparent about what we can and cannot verify:
- We can verify on-chain evidence, but we cannot read minds — some scams are intentional but not provable
- We rely on community reports — we may miss scams that are not reported
- New scam techniques emerge constantly — our methods evolve but may lag behind
- We do not have access to off-chain information like private agreements or DMs
Reporting a scam
If you found a scam token not in our database, please report it:
